Next Saturday, visitors to College Park can capture the excitement of UMD’s biggest party of the year—not with a selfie, but a sketch pad. Architecture students and Clinical Associate Professor Michael Abrams, author of The Art of City Sketching: A Field Manual, will guide budding artists as they explore and engage different parts of campus through a variety of drawing techniques.
It’s one of several hands-on activities the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation has in store for Maryland Day 2022, the University of Maryland’s annual open house, where families, alumni, prospective students and residents from across the region can explore hundreds of activities, demonstrations and events across campus. This year’s Maryland Day is Saturday, April 30 from 10am-4pm.
