The Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture and the American Institute of Architecture Students presented Associate Professor Ming Hu with the 2018-2019 New Faculty award, given to educators who display “demonstrated excellence in teaching performance during the formative years of an architectural teaching career.”

As a part of her submission to ASCA, she outlined her technology courses, which focus on the integration of architectural design with structural, materials, and building performance assessment. Hu’s research centers on high-performance building design and lifecycle assessment at the intersection of energy, human health, and environmental impact. You can read more about her here.

Each year, the ACSA honors architectural educators in areas like building design, community collaborations, scholarship, and service. Award winners inspire and challenge students, contribute to the profession’s knowledge base, and extend their work beyond the borders of academy into practice and the public sector.
