Community Building through Urban Farming: The Charles Koiner Conservancy for Urban Farming

A field trip to the Koiner Farm  with Hannah Sholder, Founder and Director of Operations

Please join us for a field trip to Koiner Farm in downtown Silver Spring! The farm is run by The Charles Koiner Conservancy for Urban Farming (CKC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit land trust dedicated to protecting and sustaining urban farms in Montgomery County, MD through community conservation. Our host is Hannah Sholder, who holds a Master in City and Regional Planning from UC-Berkeley. As the Director of Farm Operations, Hannah wears many hats for the organization - she manages  all on-farm events, as well as internships & volunteerships, Hannah's background is in urban planning with a focus on affordable housing. Hannah likes to share stories about her days working with Charlie Koiner and is passionate about carrying on the practices and traditions of older generations. She can be found at Koiner Farm most weekday evenings.

Rain plan is by zoom and will be confirmed Monday by 10 am if necessary.

Koiner Farm is accessible by Metro Red Line - Silver Spring stop, Metro and RideOn buses, car, and bike
