Heritage and the Arab Spring

“Heritage and the Arab Spring," an international symposium and roundtable, will be hosted by the Freer Gallery of Art, February 28, 2014 from 9:30-5:30. This event is co-sponsored by MAPP and co-organized by Professor Michele Lamprakos.

In association with the symposium, architect and activist Kareem Ibrahim, founder of Takween Integrated Community Development, will be leading two events at MAPP:

Lecture: “Urbanism, Heritage, and Revolution in Egypt” Wednesday, February 26 6:00 PM (Patterson Lecture)

Seminar/workshop: “Safeguarding Hassan Fathy’s New Gourna: a Tale of ‘Three Villages” Thursday, February 27 12:00-2:00 PM
