The Colvin Institute is delighted to welcome Jonathan Daniels, Executive Director, Maryland Port Administration (MPA). Mr. Daniels oversees and manages the six state-owned, public marine terminals of the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore. The marine terminals handle autos, breakbulk, containers, cruise, farm and construction equipment and forest products. Most notably, he led the Port of Baltimore’s recovery from the Key Bridge collapse.

About the speaker
Jonathan Daniels became MPA's executive director in December 2023, bringing over 30 years of port and economic development experience. He oversees and manages the six state-owned, public marine terminals of the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore. The marine terminals handle autos, breakbulk, containers, cruise, farm and construction equipment and forest products. Most notably, he led the Port of Baltimore’s recovery from the Key Bridge collapse. In addition, Daniels is overseeing the port's 20-year master plan, focusing on business growth, job creation and environmental initiatives. He previously led Port Everglades in Florida and has also held leadership roles at ports in Mississippi, New York, Louisiana and Maine. Daniels holds a BA in Political Science from The Citadel.
