The Libraries Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Committee is elated to announce the 3rd annual Read-a-Thon celebrating Black History Month! Our theme this year is “Authenticity in Black Identities.” which aligns with the Office of Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy’s (MICA) Black History Month initiatives. ARL has listed our event among the Black History Month Celebrations happening across its member libraries.

This year our event will be virtual and it is scheduled for Thursday, February 17 from 11 am to 2 pm. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to log in anytime to listen to or sign-up to read aloud passages, speeches, or quotes written by inspiring Black leaders, innovators, authors, and scientists.

We need readers! Have a poem/blurb/quote you would like to read aloud? Sign up here for a time slot. If you do not wish to read, you are welcome to sign onto the link that will be provided and listen. Mark your calendars and join us for a fun and interactive event!
