Assistant Clinical Professor Brent Leggs and Historic Preservation student Jamesha Gibson co-facilitated the African American Preservation Meeting at The National Trust for Historic Preservation's Past/Forward Conference in Houston last month. This year the National Trust had multiple community conversations on the topic of Preservation 50 to envision news ways of communicating the value of historic preservation and brainstorm strategies for achieving greater social impact. This town hall-style forum of 150 conference attendees kicked off a full day of meetings across a broad spectrum of underrepresented affinity groups.
