For the past 25 years, the National Trust for Historic Preservation has provided more than 2100 preservationists the opportunity to continue their study and practice by funding trips to their annual conference, PastForward. The Diversity Scholarship Program (DSP) aims to diversify the preservation movement through a broad range of economic, racial, ethnic and cultural perspectives, by targeting these scholarships to leaders of underrepresented communities.
A new article by the Trust, which is based in part on research work conducted by UMD Historic Preservation Graduate Student Jamesha Gibson, highlights the program's history, impact and future vision.
Past Forward 2017 will be held in Chicago, November 14-17, 2017.
