Ming Hu Joins UMD's Architecture program

MAPP is pleased to welcome Ming Hu to the faculty community this fall. As an assistant professor of architecture, Ming will be bringing her considerable experience in high performance building design, sustainability and BIM to teach structures and materials and methods. Ming holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame and Tsinghua University. She currently serves as the AIA’s Director of Academic Engagement, is Commissioner on Environment for the City of Rockville, Maryland and is a co-founding partner of HMK Design Consulting in Rochester, NY. She comes to UMD by way of Catholic University and Rochester Institute of Technology, where she taught environmental design and structures, and has worked for several DC area firms, including HOK, KGP and Torti Gallas. Ming was also a mentor for UMD’s 2011 Solar Decathlon team.
