Historic Preservation grad student Tyler Anthony Smith uncovered the history of two historic homes in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore recently for an article for the Maryland Historic Trust. Known as "Two Sisters," these small, one-room buildings were home to freed African American ship caulkers in the 1800s; they also served as the backdrop for an intriguing part of Fells Point history, known as the "War Between the Caulkers."
