Urban Design Studio

The Urban Design Studio (ARCH 700) focuses on the relationship between architecture and urbanism. Students explore both the theory and practice of urban design through several exercises and projects at a variety of scales, from the scale of the individual lot or block to the neighborhood and region. Maryland is known for its strength in urban design, and the Architecture and Urban Studies & Planning programs offer students a plethora of resources, classes and faculty to explore urban design.
