how has the UMD School of Architecture benefited you: umd has an excellent program...it is designed for the more practical designer, and teaches the method behind good design, utilizing all aspects of the discipline, from precedent studies to detail development...the faculty is firmly planted in urban design and new urbanist principles that affect place-making. the faculty believes in the issues of density, urban planning, mixed use development, and housing...aside from the principles, one of the greatest qualities of the school is its faculty. they really care about the students, and what it is we do. you will often find many faculty members giving crits late into the night...
