Student Travel Awards

MICHAEL SCOTT DeFRANCE TRAVEL AWARD FOR SUMMER STUDY ABROAD

Established by Dr. and Mrs. John H. DeFrance, in memory of their son Michael Scott DeFrance, who was a senior majoring in architecture at University of Maryland. The award supports two study abroad travel awards, one to an undergraduate and one to a graduate student, both of whom are enrolled in the architecture program at the University of Maryland School of Architecture. Students must be a participant in UMD travel program for academic credit toward graduation.

JOHN HILL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Established by the founding Dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Maryland, John Hill. The award supports study abroad for a student enrolled in the architecture program at the University of Maryland School of Architecture. Students must be a participant in UMD travel program for academic credit toward graduation.

HERBERT EDWARD RYCROFT II MEMORIAL FUND (FOR TRAVEL)

Established by bequest from Frances L. Barr in memory of Herbert Edward Rycroft II. The award supports study abroad for students enrolled in the University of Maryland School of Architecture. Students must be a participant in UMD travel program for academic credit toward graduation.

JOHN AMES STEFFIAN FELLOWSHIP

The award supports study abroad for students enrolled in the architecture program at the University of Maryland School of Architecture. Students must be a participant in UMD travel program for academic credit toward graduation. The fellowship will be awarded to students who have demonstrated scholastic achievement and promise of merit.
