The Real Estate Review, a quarterly journal published by Thomson West, a large publisher of textbooks and legal reference materials, based out of Rochester, New York, has invited the School's Director of the Master's in Real Estate Development (MRED) program to take on the responsibilities as Editor-in-Chief of the Review.
Read the first editorial of the Review by Margaret McFarland.
The Review's longtime managing editor, Hank Teegarden, has been very open to a reshaping of the Review to enlarge its focus beyond the traditional discussion of highly arcane and technical finance issues, to address the entire cycle of development with a focus on our MRED program objectives for educating the next generation of developers to recognize and promote the quadruple bottom line approach: Economic Viability, Social responsibility, Environmental Sustainability, and Beautiful Design.
There are three Senior Editors currently at work on upcoming issues: Mary Konsoulis, an adjunct professor here on campus, and Alan and Susan Ruby of Ruby Consulting in South Carolina, who are spearheading the location and editing of articles for publication. Submission guidelines and copyright requirements are available here in PDF form or from any of the Senior Editors or Editor-in-Chief McFarland. If you have an interest in serving on the Editorial Board, please contact Margaret McFarland, mmcf@umd.edu.
