Jeffrey S. Abramson is a partner in The Tower Companies, an award winning, family-owned real estate development company headquartered in Rockville, MD and a green building leader. Jeffrey is the inspiration behind the company’s well-known sustainability success and has been awarded and recognized for his leadership and passion by many organizations including the State of Maryland, NRDC, District of Columbia Mayor’s Office, Sustainability Roundtable, Aspen Institute, USGBC, EPA, Washington Business Journal, and many more.
Philanthropy is another passion to which Jeffrey is very dedicated and he has generously given his guidance and resources to organizations whose missions resolve around environmental sustainability, health and wellness, education, women empowerment, and music and the arts. His investment in Transcendental Meditation (TM) research has resulted in a $25 million of research grants from National Institutes of Health on the effects of TM and cardiovascular disease, resulting in over 30 published studies. Jeffrey also provides scholarship support world-wide to students, women, and veterans to learn the TM technique that helps them experience inner calm, clarity of mind, maximizing their full potential to excel in life. Thanks to Jeffrey’s devotion to this unique practice of meditation, employees at The Tower Companies have access to learn the technique as a health benefit.
He is also Board Trustee of the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, co-chaired 'Big and Green: Sustainable Buildings for the 21st Century' and has sponsored numerous exhibits on sustainability at the museum since 2009. Jeffrey is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the David Lynch Foundation, which provides worldwide scholarships for learning the stress reduction technique of Transcendental Meditation. He is also the Board Chair of Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, an award-winning university specializing in Consciousness- Based Education.
