AIA Corporate Architects and Facility Management Knowledge Community

The AIA Corporate Architects and Facility Management Knowledge Community (CAFM), a partnership of owners and architects working for or within corporations or other client organizations offers the CAFM scholarship program. Intended to foster interest in alternative careers, such as facility management, this scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in an architecture program.

AIAS/AIA Trust Scholarship for Emerging Professionals

This scholarship program is primarily intended to assist financially-challenged students with paying their tuition and/or other direct educational expenses. The architecture profession needs talented individuals to help lead it into the future and we expect this program will help facilitate that. Up to six scholarships of $750 each will be awarded this year. The program is for students in the fifth year of an undergraduate professional degree or the first year of graduate professional degree.

AIAS/Gregg J. Lotke Memorial Scholarship

The AIAS is pleased to offer for the 2008-2009 school year two scholarships to deserving students, which honor Gregg J. Lotke. Scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to AIAS student members with demonstrated financial need. This scholarship program is primarily intended to assist students with financial need by helping to pay their tuition and/or other direct educational expenses.

Berkeley Prize

In 2004, the Berkeley Prize Committee established the Berkeley Prize Travel Fellowship Competition. This new prize recognizes the vital role that exposure to other cultures and environments plays in helping to demonstrate the reality and importance of the social art of architecture. The top ten Semifinalists for the Berkeley Prize Essay Competition are invited to submit proposals demonstrating how they would use the opportunity to travel to an architecturally-significant destination selected by the Prize Committee. The Travel Fellowship provides round-trip airfare from the city in which the student is studying to the destination and back, and a stipend to cover lodging, food, and incidentals during their stay, normally for three weeks.

This year, Berkeley Prize Semifinalists have been given a choice in opportunities. They may compete in either the 2008 Travel Fellowship or in the first Berkeley Prize Architectural Design Fellowship.
