Christine Cestello Hinojosa came to the Visual Resources Collection as a curator in 1994, just as the Collection was beginning the journey from slide to digital technology. Because the primary goal of the Collection is to provide users with easy access to visual materials, Chris began developing a database for images and their accompanying metadata. She now spends her time researching, organizing, and reviewing images and topics for the enrichment and enhancement of the Collection, while continuing to provide users with quality images, metadata, and digital technologies.

Chris also participates in local community/University projects, serving as liaison and coordinator for Architects in the Schools. This program pairs volunteer graduate and undergraduate architecture students from the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation with engineering and art students at the local high school. The project culminates in a presentation, critique, and exhibit of the high school students' work at the University.

Before coming to the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, Chris worked in positions as a writer/editor at a law firm, manager of an international design competition, program coordinator in community development, and spent two years researching the quantitative aspects of design competitions at the National Endowment for the Arts.

Chris is a member of the Visual Resources Association, an international organization for image professionals. In her personal life, she volunteers as a community and education activist, and participates in creative and arts-related activities whenever she has the opportunity.
