Ivan Silverman is a co-founding principal of Reznick Group, P.C., formerly Reznick Fedder and Silverman. Ivan leads the firm's Entrepreneurial and Professional Service Firms practices. With more than 40 years of experience in professional accounting, audit and taxation matters, he provides accounting and business consulting services to clients in a variety of industries. He has particular expertise in regulated multi-family residential real estate, conventional real estate, construction, retail and wholesale trade, nonprofit organization, closely-held businesses and communication industries.
Silverman has overall responsibility for the review of financial statements and workpapers to ensure the maintenance of the firm's quality control standards and compliance with all professional pronouncements of the AICPA, FASB, PCAOB & SEC. He directs the administration and planning of audit and tax return preparation engagements. In addition, he has taught accounting courses within the firm and to outside organizations.
Silverman is a past president and past member of the Board of Directors of the International Group of Accounting Firms (IGAF), a worldwide confederation of independent regional accounting firms. In this capacity, he has performed quality control peer reviews for IGAF member firms.
Silverman is active in a number of nonprofit organizations, including the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, where he was the Chairman of the Board of Governors. He also was active in the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, serving as a member of the Executive Board, Board of Directors and as the Treasurer. In addition, Silverman was the recipient of the 2001 Outstanding Volunteer Service Award.
