PRINCIPAL, JBG ROSENFELD RETAIL

Rob Rosenfeld co-directs the acquisition and development activities of JBG Rosenfeld Retail (www.jbgrosenfeld.com), a leading owner and developer of shopping centers and mixed-use properties in the mid-Atlantic region. Rosenfeld and other principals jointly own JBG Rosenfeld Retail with The JBG Companies, a major developer and owner of commercial and multifamily residential properties in the Greater Washington, DC metropolitan area.   JBG Rosenfeld owns and/or manages over 5 million square feet of retail and mixed-use properties. Currently, JBG Rosenfeld is developing three major mixed-use (retail/residential) projects whose total square footage exceeds 1.5 million square feet.  In addition, JBG Rosenfeld's retail brokerage division is a market leader in the representation of both landlords and tenants in the mid-Atlantic.

Prior to founding JBG Rosenfeld in 1995, Rosenfeld was President of Rosenfeld Realty Company, a shopping center development firm founded in 1949 and specializing in neighborhood and community center development in the mid-Atlantic region. Rosenfeld Realty was a pioneer in the shopping center industry, helping to establish the grocery-anchored format in outlying communities.  Prior to joining Rosenfeld Realty, Rosenfeld was Assistant Vice President of JMB Realty Corporation in Chicago, Illinois, a major real estate investment firm, where he concentrated on the acquisition of retail and other properties.

Rosenfeld has earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. Rosenfeld, an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), has served on the Maryland Government Affairs committee of ICSC and co-chaired the ICSC Mid-Atlantic Idea Exchange for two years. He is also a supporter of the Real Estate Apprenticeship Program, which seeks to increase the representation of minorities in the commercial real estate industry.  In addition, Rosenfeld serves on the Executive Committee of the Washington District Council of the Urban Land Institute, is a member of The George Washington University Center for Real Estate and Urban Analysis Advisory Board and is a member of the Council of Advisors for the University of Maryland's Master's of Real Estate Development.
