RESCHEDULED LeFrak Rosenbloom Lecture: Is Perfect the Enemy of Good?

Dr. Sandra Rosenbloom, an internationally recognized transportation researcher and Director of the Urban Institute’s Innovation in Infrastructure program, will expose the conflicts between the needs of different members of the community; differences that are often hidden or ignored and that frequently break along age and class lines. Older people, for example, can benefit substantially from more walkable communities even if those communities are not also rich in stores, social and recreational facilities and medical offices. Dr. Rosenbloom will explore the reasons whyplanners may be unwilling to expend resources on aging-in-place neighborhoods if those places are not also high density with mixed land uses.
