The Maryland Department of Planning, in partnership with the National Center for Smart Growth Research & Education and the University of Maryland Urban Studies & Planning Program will be hosting an open house on Thursday,June 16, 2011, to share the draft of the state's first comprehensive plan for sustainable growth and development, known as PlanMaryland.
The Open House will take place at the University of Maryland College Park in the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center, lower level, from 5-8 PM. Please enter the campus via the University Boulevard/Route 193 entrance, and parking is available in Lot 1 after 4pm.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about PlanMaryland, meet stakeholders and local government officials involved in the draft plan and find out how they can participate in the 120-day review and public comment period. Residents and students are welcomed and encouraged to attend and contribute to this ongoing dialogue that will help shape the future of Maryland's growth, development and preservation.
