Maryland Faculty and Alumna Contribute to Spring 2008 Real Estate Review

The Spring 2008 issue of Real Estate Review, a quarterly journal published by Thomson West, includes several articles authored by affiliates of the School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation.

The Review is edited by Margaret McFarland, Director of the Real Estate Development Program, with adjunct faculty member Mary Konsoulis and Alan and Susan Ruby. Dean Garth Rockcastle, FAIA, serves on the editorial board.

In addition to a foreword (click to download PDF) by McFarland, the Spring 2008 issue includes:

  • A discussion of the current status and future prospects of smart growth by John W. Frece, Associate Director of the National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education
  • An article on how to take advantage of tax codes for historic preservation projects by Rosemary Faya Prola, Master of Historic Preservation '06
  • A review of Last Harvest, the latest book from noted architecture critic Witold Rybczynski, by Professor Ralph Bennett
