Andi Livi Smith received $10,350 plus travel funds to attend the Active Living Research conference in San Diego in February 2007. The dissertation fellowship is from Active Living Research, which is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. ALR investigates policies and environments to support active communities. Two URPD Ph.D. students, Andrea Livi Smith and Carolina Burneir, have received prestigious Eisenhower Graduate Fellowships from the Federal Highway Administration. Smith was awarded a one-year grant of $6,500 to cover tuition and travel to the Transportation Research Board annual meeting. Burnier received a three-year award totaling $103,500, which will cover her tuition and stipend, as well as the TRB conference. She is one of only ten recipients of this award nationwide.
Arnab Chakarborty received a Kenneth Good Graduate Student Fellowship from the Urban Land Institute for 2005.
Rodney Harrell received a Promise Award at the Second Annual PROMISE Research Symposium. In the Social Sciences Education Arts and Humanities Oral Presentations category, Rodney won second place. Masters student Willow Amman won third place. For more information, click here.
